Powder coating

Powder coating

Powder coating, also known as Komaxit, utilizes the latest technologies for applying colored powder plastics.

Powder coating is a type of surface finish also known as Komaxit. This method utilizes the latest technologies for the application of powder paints. This involves automatic chemical pre-treatment, an automatic or manual spraying booth, and a curing oven. In our case, we offer unique dimensions for the curing oven, allowing for the coating of individual parts measuring 9 x 2.2 x 0.5 m (length x height x width).

Powder coating can modify the surface of many materials, not just metal. The history of powder coating dates back to the mid-20th century when it was first used in the USA. Today, this effective technology is widespread around the world and continues to evolve. Powder coating has numerous advantages—it is eco-friendly, economical, and produces high-quality results. Particularly, its ecological benefits are highly valued today, as powder coating does not unnecessarily burden the environment. Leftover powder paint is easily recyclable, and this method poses no threat to human health.

Due to the continuous development of new shades and color textures, this technology is increasingly in demand among our customers.

Types of Powder Coatings

Powder coating is one of the most popular paints today, largely due to its practical applications. It is always ready for use and, with proper storage, can last for several years.

Powder paint belongs to the category of industrial coatings and consists of a mixture of resins, pigments, etc. You can use our paint to treat the surfaces of various materials, both indoors and outdoors.

Types of Powder Coatings

Powder coatings have a dry, powdery consistency. They are not diluted or dissolved in any liquid during use, meaning they are always ready for immediate application. Powder coatings are commonly found on bicycles, household appliances, radiators, and home accessories. We offer a wide range of colors, shades, and types of powder coatings.

All of the colors listed below used by our company are certified by Qualicoat and GSB.

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving our products, we have introduced powder coatings from a new supplier. We have chosen the Swiss company IGP. Shades like DB703 and bronze will now exclusively be coated with IGP paints.

This means even greater durability for the surface finish, better color coverage, and enhanced gloss for metallic shades.

Suitable Applications for Powder Coating

  • Epoxy: Designed for indoor use only. These paints are resistant to corrosion and some chemicals typically found indoors.
  • Epoxy-Polyester: Suitable for indoor use but also for short-term exposure to outdoor conditions.
  • Polyester with Qualicoat Certification: Usable exclusively outdoors. They have high resistance to weather conditions and UV radiation.
  • Polyurethane: Extremely durable against weather conditions.
  • Acrylic: These paints are used in the automotive industry.

The applied paint surface can have various textures based on customer choice:

  • Matte
  • Glossy
  • Semi-gloss
  • Textured
  • Metallic
  • Hammered

The thickness of the coated layer is a minimum of 60 to 100 micrometers to ensure surface durability, depending on the specific shade.
